Messages from the school's leadership
Swamy Dibyananda
President
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the website of Swami Pranabananda Vidyapith, Tollygunge, Kolkata, West Bengal.
Our school was established on the ideals and teachings of Acharya Swami Pranabanandaji Maharaj, the great founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha. In 1916, Acharya Swami Pranabanandaji, at the age of twenty attained salvations in Bajitpur cremation ground, under the very altar of his divine illumination and the Almighty Will pierced through his divine silence by declaring ‘‘This is the age of Universal Awakening, this is the age of Universal Synthesis, this is the age of Universal Unification, this is the age of Universal Emancipation”.
In order to fulfil the demand of the age, he established Bharat Sevashram Sangha in 1917. Presently, the multifarious activities of the Sangha are well known to each and everybody.
Bharat Sevashram Sangha has significant role in the field of education in India. The Sangha is running so many schools in West Bengal and in other states of India. This school had been started by the name “Russa Shishu Sandipak Kindergarten School” in 1975 by a few teachers with 60 students. Gradually the number of students and the classes in the school increased day by day and in 1990 Bharat Sevashram Sangha authorities acquired the school and renamed the school as "Swami Pranabananda Vidyapith”. The school is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) and the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE). It has two sections and two shifts.
The Primary Section from pre-nursery to Class IV starts at 6.45 a.m. and continues till 10.50 a.m.
The H.S. section from V to XII starts at 11.30 a.m. and ends at 5.10 p.m. Both runs from Monday to Friday. The school is situated at 27, M. N. Sen Lane, Tollygunge, Kolkata – 700 040. The number of students in the Vidyapith from Pre nursery to Class XII is about 3500.
The Bharat Sevashram Sangha authorities, considering the financial condition of the poor and middle class students, has kept the fees structure lower than other schools.
The teachers of Swami Pranabananda Vidyapith are inspired by the ideals of Acharya Swami Pranabanandaji Maharaj, the great founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha and they are committed to educating the students. I firmly believe that the students of Swami Pranabnanda Vidyapith will achieve higher education in future and become well established and nationalistic citizens of India.
May Shri Shri Guruji Maharaj showers His choicest blessings upon you all.
With prayers and blessings,
Swamy Dibyananda

Swami Siddharthananda
Secretary
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Swami Pranabananda Vidyapith, Tollygunge, Kolkata. Ours is a school dedicated to the noble ideal of building character and developing every side of a young mind.
Our school draws its inspiration from the life and teachings of Acharya Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj, the great founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha. He saw education not merely as the gaining of academic knowledge but as a process that transforms the whole personality. His ideal of "Man-Making Education" remains the guiding principle of our work.
True education, as we understand it, must make a student knowledgeable, disciplined, responsible, compassionate and courageous. It should develop not only the intellect but also character, conscience and a sense of duty towards family, society, the nation and humanity. We therefore seek an environment where knowledge is enriched by values, freedom is guided by responsibility, and achievement is accompanied by humility.
In a fast-changing world, education must also prepare our students for the challenges and opportunities of the modern age. Alongside a strong academic foundation, we encourage critical thinking, creativity, communication, teamwork and problem-solving, together with digital literacy, adaptability and a love of lifelong learning. We want our students to use modern knowledge and technology with confidence while remaining firmly rooted in our cultural and ethical heritage.
At the same time, we believe that technological progress without moral direction can never make a complete education. Truthfulness, integrity, self-discipline, compassion, respect for others, service and social awareness are the foundations of a meaningful life. These values are therefore an integral part of the way we teach.
Our endeavour is to nurture young people who can think independently, act responsibly and face difficulties with courage and perseverance. We want them to become not merely successful professionals but good human beings and responsible citizens who contribute to society and the nation.
The Vidyapith strives to provide an atmosphere where every child is encouraged to discover his or her potential, to cultivate a spirit of inquiry, to respect diversity, to value our rich cultural heritage and to commit to a lifetime of learning and service.
As we move forward, we are committed to bringing together the timeless ideals of character, discipline, service and self-development with the knowledge and skills of the modern world. In this synthesis lies the true meaning of education.
Let us work together to realise the noble vision of Acharya Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj: an education that builds strong character, awakens the best qualities in every individual, and prepares young minds to serve humanity with knowledge, integrity and compassion.
May the students of Swami Pranabananda Vidyapith grow into enlightened, capable, compassionate and responsible human beings who carry forward the ideals of our revered founder and help to build a better society and a better world.
With my best wishes for the continued growth and success of the Vidyapith and all its students,
Mausumi Goswami
Teacher-in-Charge, Higher Secondary Section
Dear Students, Parents and Well-wishers,
It gives me pleasure to welcome you to the website of Swami Pranabananda Vidyapith, a unit of Bharat Sevashram Sangha.
Education is not merely the gaining of knowledge. It is the nurturing of responsible, compassionate and confident human beings who live by good values. At Swami Pranabananda Vidyapith we strive to give our students a balanced education that develops their intellect, creativity, character, discipline and sense of social responsibility.
Our aim is to create a learning environment where every child feels encouraged to explore, to question, to learn and to grow. Along with academic excellence, we give importance to moral values, culture, discipline, service, care for the environment and respect for others. May the lives of our students be illuminated by the ideals and blessings of Acharya Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj.
We believe that teachers, parents and students are partners in the journey of education. With their cooperation and support, we can help our children discover their potential and prepare them to face the challenges of the future with confidence and compassion.
May our students always remain curious in learning, humble in achievement, courageous in difficulty and committed to serving society.
With warm wishes,
